LOCATION

This position can be performed out of our Deerfield, Illinois or Austin, Texas offices, or remotely.

POSITION SUMMARY

As a Business Development Associate, your main focus will be supporting our in-house Business Development Officers (BDOs) by handling both sales and administrative tasks.

The preferred candidate will:

  • Have a solid understanding of commercial finance and factoring.
  • Have a background in a bank training program, credit experience, and a solid understanding of P&L/balance sheets.
  • Bring an engaging approach to effectively collaborate with both prospects and internal teams.

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING

  • Collaborate with and provide support to a team of Business Development Officers (BDOs) in both sales and administrative tasks.
  • Leverage credit experience to assess and evaluate the creditworthiness of potential clients.
  • Review a prospective borrower’s business plan and financial statements to help evaluate eligibility for our services.
  • Possess the capability to comprehend commercial finance and factoring processes, requiring minimal additional training.
  • Exhibit a friendly and engaging personality to build positive relationships with clients and enhance overall client experience.
  • Assist in the preparation and analysis of financial documents, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies.
  • Work with the sales team to assist in executing sales strategies.
  • Contribute to collective goals and projects and enhance administrative processes.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

KEY QUALIFICATIONS

  • Completion of a reputable bank training program or equivalent financial education.
  • Proven experience in credit analysis and understanding credit processes.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to interact effectively with clients and internal teams.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with BDOs and other team members to support sales initiatives.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in handling administrative tasks and documentation.
  • Customer-centric approach with a friendly and approachable personality to build positive relationships.

EXPERIENCE & EDUCATION

  • College degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, or a related field, or a combination of education and related experience
  • 2 years of experience
  • Experience within the commercial finance industry
